Your
Dream Deck
Most
of us could only imagine a beautiful wood deck off the back of our house
-- that is until renting made it affordable and easy. It can really save
you money, especially if you rent from us. We'll supply you with the tools
you need to dig post holes, pour concrete and work with wood.
Here
are a few helpful hints for those of you with visions of decks dancing
in your heads:
Planning can save you time, effort, and money. Decide what features you
want your deck to have and then come up with a realistic size.
Probably the single most important element of your deck is the support
beam or beams. It must be large enough to withstand the weight of the
deck and whatever is on it. Your local building inspector can help you
calculate the correct beam size.
Be sure to build your deck from rot resistant wood, such as heart redwood,
heart cedar or pressure-treated lumber.
If the lumber is not already treated with a water repellent, apply one
yourself.
Build your deck quickly and more easily with rented power tools and equipment.
