The carpet stretcher works by activating a level that puts pressure on the opposing side of the carpet and stretches the carpet over the opposing tackless strips. You will need to place a board on the forced end of the carpet stretcher to protect your baseboards. Cut any excess carpet that is near the walls with a utility knife.
